Aquariums

Aquariums are one of the most popular items sold in pet stores. Studies have also shown that watching fish swim in an aquarium is an effective way to reduce your stress level. These mini-ecosystems can be designed in a variety of sizes and contents.

Freshwater aquariums are the most commonly purchased in most pet stores. These can provide a habitat for a variety of freshwater fish, including Bettas and Gouramis. Most first time fish owners opt for these systems.

Saltwater aquariums require different equipment and maintenance than freshwater designs. It is for this reason that saltwater tanks are not recommended for beginners. Since many saltwater fish have a more “exotic” look, many people will add a saltwater tank once they’ve gained experience caring for a freshwater variation.
